Ben Soir – Harmonia Confusionis
Start Galéria Budapest’s resident artist, Ben Soir, presents a new exhibition in which memories that begin as portraits and are then overgrown by layers and textures become paintings. In these works, the personal turns into a universal experience: the slow interplay of remembering and forgetting, and the balance between order and chaos.
The restrained colours, the irregular regularity, and the labyrinth of networks cannot be deciphered at a single glance. The paintings invite viewers to linger, to let their gaze wander, and, in doing so, to encounter their own inner memories as well.
Harmonia Confusionis is both a professional experiment and a personal confession: painting that does not offer ready-made answers, but instead leaves questions suspended in the air — such as what time preserves of us, and what it ultimately conceals forever.
