Ábel Nógrádi

”My name is Ábel, I am almost 30, and I studied mathematics. Until a little over six months ago, the only artworks I had were the ones I made as a child. But that has changed now. Ta-da-da-daaam. I started attending drawing school — Long live Angelika! — to learn croquis drawing. I mostly experiment with ink and charcoal. Since I find it quite enjoyable, I am trying to make it part of my everyday life.”

Nógrádi Ábel’s works are available through the Start Galéria Budapest online shop.

Our gallery’s motto is that somehow, one has to Start. According to Éva Hidvégi, the founder of Felszabtér Drawing School, anyone can be taught to draw.

Ábel began attending the school as a mathematician, and it is exciting to witness his development. Through the process of creating, he is also overcoming countless inhibitions — as does anyone who dares to start something new in life.

And as the above-mentioned Angelika, I believe that the more new things we begin in the course of a lifetime, the less afraid we become of the next one, and the more easily we learn to handle unexpected situations.
